I found your explanation to be very clear! Excellent examples as well. In the classroom, if you were reinforcing other skills, you could also have copied the rank array and pasted it, instead of retyping it, and then use sort, remembering to expand the selection.

I think when I recorded this video I left the randbetween function on while working so that the scores were frequently changing.

so, a student had 100% and after the formula it went down to 99%. Guess you did something funk there. Works fine here, although I ctrl dragged down on B3 to B8 - yes I used less students in mine and it didn't change the percent as opposed to yours.
